The West Coast Saints premiership defence has begun.

Pre-season training started Wednesday night with encouraging numbers eager to work off the Christmas spread. More than 20 players were put through their paces by acting coach Scott Sheen at the first session at Mount Pleasant Elementary.

Among them were several new faces including Reggie, Owen, Graeme and Andrew. Anyone who missed training is urged to attend the next session.
